Berlin Plans to Acquire TenneT Germany Stake in Early 2026, According to Ministry Letter
Germany's Stake in TenneT: The German government plans to acquire a 25.1% stake in TenneT Germany, with a budget of 5.8 billion euros, aiming to finalize the agreement by early 2026.
Investor Consortium Sale: The Dutch government has agreed to sell 46% of TenneT Germany to a consortium of investors, including APG, GIC, and Norges Bank, for up to 9.5 billion euros.
Control Over Energy Infrastructure: This acquisition is part of Germany's strategy to maintain greater control over critical energy infrastructure, alongside existing minority stakes in other power grids.
Future Plans: There are currently no intentions to purchase a stake in Amprion, the fourth high-voltage power transmission network in Germany, as stated in the economy ministry's letter.
