Higher Capital Buffer Requirements: Bank of America and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China will face increased capital buffer requirements as they move from bucket 2 to bucket 3 in the latest G-SIBs list published by the Financial Stability Board.
Effective Date for Changes: The new higher loss absorbency requirements will take effect on January 1, 2027, if there is a bucket increase compared to 2024.
Deutsche Bank's Status Change: Deutsche Bank has moved to a lower bucket, from bucket 2 to bucket 1, which means a decrease in the required loss absorbency effective immediately.
JPMorgan Chase's Position: JPMorgan Chase remains in bucket 4, maintaining the highest capital buffer requirement among the 29 global systemically important banks.
