KlimaDAO Japan to launch carbon credit marketplace with Progmat

- KlimaDAO Japan Market Launch: KlimaDAO Japan plans to launch a marketplace for carbon credits called KlimaDAO Japan Market, in collaboration with Progmat stablecoin platform.
- Global Expansion: The project aims to expand globally and may eventually trade J-Credits carbon credits on a larger scale through platforms like Carbonmark.
- Limited Trading Volume: Currently, J-Credit trading volumes are limited, with the international market for carbon credits estimated at $2.9 billion, of which only $288.1 million is voluntary credits.
- Progmat and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG): Progmat, supported by MUFG, will facilitate trades using yen-pegged JPYC coin, with Optage providing the trading infrastructure.
- Future Phases: The project is moving into Phase 2, aiming to complete it by yearend, focusing on electronic payment methods and integration with Carbonmark. Phase 3 will involve overseas trading and support for developing marketplaces.
