Ibom Air: NCAA mandates that mobile phones must be turned off during take-off and landing

New Regulation on Mobile Phones: The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has mandated that all mobile phones must be switched off during take-off and landing, ending the previous practice of using flight mode.

Response to Unruly Behavior: This regulation follows an incident involving a passenger who refused to comply, highlighting the NCAA's concern over increasing unruly behavior among passengers at airports.

Public Awareness Campaigns: To ensure compliance, the NCAA plans to launch public enlightenment campaigns, including radio jingles and TV series, to inform travelers about their responsibilities.

Training for Airline Staff: The NCAA will require airlines to implement conflict resolution training for their staff and conduct mock response exercises in Lagos and Abuja to prepare for enforcing the new rules.
