Coinbase's Base Network Suffers $220K WETH Smart Contract Breach
Written by Ohris M. Greyoon, Blockchain & Crypto Expert
Exploit Details: CertiK identified a significant exploit on the Base blockchain, where an unverified smart contract drained 55 Wrapped Ether (WETH), valued at around $220,000, from a victim due to a vulnerability in the uniswapV3SwapCallback() function.
Security Recommendations: Users are advised to revoke approvals to the compromised contract address and to exercise caution when interacting with unverified contracts, as similar vulnerabilities have led to significant losses in the past.
