Overweight
maintain
$89 -> $97
Reason
JPMorgan raised the firm's price target on Best Buy to $97 from $89 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares ahead of the company's Q3 report. JPMorgan also added Best Buy to its "Positive Catalyst Watch" list. The firm increased earnings and comp forecasts citing Best Buy's stronger than expected sales and "solid" gross margin performance. The analyst sees earnings upside in Q3 and Q4 driving a "richer valuation" for the shares.
Truist raised the firm's price target on Best Buy to $79 from $72 and keeps a Hold rating on the shares. After benefiting from Switch 2 sales in Q2, Truist Card Data implies that sales improved again in Q3, and the firm believes the company continues to benefit from the platform launch, the analyst tells investors in a research note.
Argus keeps a Hold rating on Best Buy but notes that the company's investments in its e-commerce infrastructure and management's ability to adapt gives the firm confidence in its ability to launch new initiatives. Best Buy also stands to benefit from sales of new computers, tablets, phones, and wearable devices that are more adept in using artificial intelligence products, the analyst tells investors in a research note, adding that the firm would "strongly consider" adding the stock to its Buy list.
Equal Weight
maintain
$67 -> $75
Reason
Wells Fargo raised the firm's price target on Best Buy to $75 from $67 and keeps an Equal Weight rating on the shares. Optimism was building, and Best Buy nicely topped Q2 expectations, with quarter-to-date comparable sales tracking +low single digits, and an intact FY26 outlook, the firm notes. That said, Wells believes obstacles remain, and post-recent rally, it sees less room for error.
